My writing and editing experience dates back to college, where I was editor of the independent student newspaper. I've worked as a staff writer for newspapers as large as the Los Angeles Times and as small as the Fort Pierce Tribune, learning all aspects of daily and weekly newspaper journalism.
I'm an accomplished columnist with more than 100 columns to my credit, as well as this year's Florida Press Club award for best columnist in my circulation size (although the judge said one of my entries was the best single column in the entire category.) I also received an Eagle for best writing in 2002 from American City Business Journals, the highest editorial honor for the chain of more than 50 business weeklies.
I've broadened my editing skills beyond newspapers by handling book projects, technical papers, promotional publications and public relations copy. I am a member of the American Copy Editors Society (ACES).
